Vineyards & Viticulture
In the 12th century, Etienne, Count of Sancerre, gave a slope located in Ménétréol to the religious order of Grandmontains, who then developed vine-growing on this slope. In 1997, Laporte acquired a vineyard of 4.8 hectares situated in the heart of this slope, from vines planted, on average, between 1980-1985.

Harvest & Vinification
Manually harvested grapes are destemmed. After bleeding the vat (the bled wine is used to make Rosé), the grapes macerate for 8 to 10 days at temperatures ranging from 25° to 30°C (77° to 86°F). The wine is racked after malolactic fermentation and matured in the vat for six months. After vacuum-bottling, the wine is left to bottle ageing for a minimum of two months.
