Les Ranches means “spiky thorny bushes” in old French. Located at the northern end of the Côtes de Nuits, below the 1er Cru La Micaude, and planted in 1974. Eastern exposure and 240-meter altitude.

Clay-limestone

Harvest & Vinification
30% whole cluster. Maceration at a low temperature for the first ten days. Fermented in vats for 5 to 6 weeks with no pigeage but frequent pumpovers. Aged for 12 months with fine lees in oak casks, 20% new.
