Vineyards & Viticulture
Planted between 1910 and 1965. A blend of several sites within Gevrey-Chambertin (Les Epointures, Combe du Dessus, Jouise, and Les Marchais) and named after the family that once owned some of the parcels. Extremely old vines of Pinot Fin that generate very low yields and naturally concentrated berries. All selection massale, using their best Pinot Fin to replant. The vineyards are tended like a garden, with horse plowing, biodynamic teas prepared in-house, and no trimming of the canopy. Organic vineyard management since 2003.
Soils
Clay and limestone
Harvest & Vinification
No pre-fermentation maceration (cold soak) is done on any wines, just raw material, without any additives or correction. Fermented with 50% whole cluster. Aged 16 to 18 months in oak barrels. Wine is unfiltered and unfined.
